The Crisis Therapy are a five piece band based on the Gold Coast. Combining
elements of speed metal, grindcore and hard rock, together with a 'no
bullshit' attitude, The Crisis Therapy have become one of the most brutal,
yet dynamic bands on the Australian metal/hardcore scene. Featuring
ex-members from metal and hardcore acts such as Lynchmada, Mudstick,
Traction and Soul Terra, The Crisis Therapy are in no way lacking experience
or skill. Think along the lines of a mesh of Hatebreed, Napalm Death and
Meshuggah, and you're in the ballpark.
The Crisis Therapy are not for the faint-hearted or fashion conscious. They
bring pure, stripped-back anger and raw intensity to the fray, and The only
image they have is that they are big - not only in sound but in stature!
This only adds to the intensity of their live show - where they make the
biggest stage look like a playpen. They have shared the stage with some of
Australia's finest: Against, Frankenbok, Daysend, Lynchmada, A Secret Death,
Parkway Drive etc. They also secured a spot on Surfing Life's DVD - a
segment of the Pro surfing circuit with Kelly Slater.
The debut EP 'you might as well take me too' is an extremely brutal
introduction to an equally brutal band. The sound is tight and heavy, with
production duties handled by Nik Carpenter (ex-Devolved) at Core Studios.
The band will take you on a ride through grinding speed riffs and then spit
you out in a haze of experimental noise and breakdowns, then suck you back
in with a further onslaught of frustration-fuelled grind - just when you
thought you were going to survive the punishment. If you want something
beyond the boundaries of the current hardcore and metal movement, this might
be just what you are looking for.
